September is Sepsis Awareness month. We helped the Ohio Hospital Association kick it off with a two minute video about identifying the signs of sepsis.
This video was a rare opportunity where I had full creative control of the visuals and type. I created a series of chalky, hand-drawn illustrations in a limited color palette, surrounded by a deep textured darkness. The scenes were always floating and slightly askew, creating a sense of urgency and discomfort.
The Ohio Hospital Association used the illustrations and lettering across their entire Signs of Sepsis initiative campaign.
The campaign was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America with a 2017 PRism Award of Excellence.
